mbfrancis and Zulza-Thanks for your posts and I will answer your questions.
Why did I buy Reason? I guess to expand my horizons and to experiment. My first choice was Sonar, but I was afraid my PC wouldn't cut it processor wise. Sonar requires 2.6 ghz and Reason only requires 2.2 and my laptop is just a bit over 2.2. I haven't had any issues with power (yet). I did run some of the demo projects and a few of them have a large number of tracks and effects and it's handled them well. My projects will probably never get as huge as some of the demos and I can tweak my PC to make more RAM available if I have to. The Line 6 website has a series of video tutorials of how to free up resources in Windows 7 and all of the projects I've tried running (including my own) were done with everything running so I'm not too worried about that aspect. As far as Rewire, Samplitude does have it but when I tried using it I got an error message. I only tried it once and haven't really delved into doing that much yet. I've been concentrating mostly on learning Reason and experimenting with it for the past month since I got it. I know you can do more than Electronica but there doesn't seem to be many examples of other genres on the net by other users. Even on the Music Forum on the Propellerhead site I 've only been able to find a small handful of people who make the pop style I like to work with. I'm finding myself liking Hip Hop more. That's saying alot because up until recently, I HATED it, but it's kind of growing on me, especially the kind that has a mixture of a ballad style and hip hop mixed. That's kind of cool, really. I've actually been fascinated by Reason for several years now and was always curious about it. There was a guy on a music site I heard about 10 years ago who used an earlier version and I thought it was neat. So, I hope I gave you some more insight into my decision. Looking forward to discussing the subject with your further, and wouldn't mind hearing a tune or two from you done in Reason.
Zulza-Regarding Toontrack. I only have experience with EZDrrummer at this point in time. I've heard of EZKey and EZMix and Superior Drummer and heard some demos but they're not in my arsenal. There was a time I would have never relied on preset drum patterns, but my ability to program drum tracks sucks as compared to the quality you can get with EZD. It's really like having a pro drummer on your sessions and they don't have a problem with you using their patterns and fills in your songs, even if you sell them professionally. They tell you that. That's what they made them for. So yes, I do like the program. You can hear some examples of what I've done with it here:

The EZD songs are Mystery, Yes You Are, You Wanted More, Tryin' to Write a Song, Perfect World , and Now.
