  1. Music is all about being you, my friend. Using music to express yourself is what music is all about..... so unless you wanna lie to your fans, give them you. If they like it, they like it... if they don't, somebody else did. You can never please everyone, so as long as you're pleased with your art, that's all that matters.
  2. My band, Burning Down The Villager has just released our first full length album "In Time", and we are searching for reviewers to see what people think of our sound, and how we can better ourselves musically. Does anybody have any good recommendations on who we could send our material to for review? Burning Down The Villager - Facebook Listen to "In Time" Buy "In Time"
  3. As a recording engineer, I always tell my client the importance of having a professional master their project when I finish mixing. I think having another set of ears on a recording project never hurts. It allows someone to hear something you may have missed. Another thing that I have found, is a lot of artists think that mastering is a process that is included in mixing, and they don't budget for the extra service. In this case, I typically reach for a good parametric eq, a multiband compressor, and a limiter. With those three tools, you can normally achieve a decent "master" without breaking the bank going to a professional, but if you've got the funds... always go with the pros.
  4. I know of quite a few bands who use corporate sponsors to help fund their tours. Something as easy as wearing a brands shirt on stage will get you some extra income so you won't have to sleep in your car on the road... I'm also looking into this, so if you find anything... please share!
  5. I'm glad I came across this site. It seems like a lot of people on here really care about the music community, and helping one another out! Keep up the good work Symph! I run sound at a church in Lincoln Nebraska, so I think it's great when people combine what they believe in with there creative outlet, in your case, music! Nice to meet you!
  6. We are Burning Down The Villager, a melodic rock band from Nebraska seeking reviews of our latest full length album "In Time". The album has been released on Tremulant Records, and is available on all major online music retailers. We are currently working on booking our first major US tour, and seeking reviews of the album to know how our fans feel about the songs, and see what cities we should hit on the upcoming tour. We appreciate your time, and can't wait to hear what you think of the album! Check us out here: Facebook iTunes Spotify Reverbnation
