  1. I'm jamming out to Box of Goats right now, I was wondering what your influences were like. I thought you might be a Elliot Smith fan but it's hard to say. So yeah, I like your style!

  2. Okay, so this is going to make me sound like a pansy...but I really like Bright Eye's Conner Oberst... Here's a little snippet from one of my favorite songs "You Will" if you're interested "Are you the love of my lifetime? 'Cause there have been times I have had my doubts. We were just kids when I first kissed you in the attic of my parents house, and I wish we were there now. It took so long to figure out what this book has been about. Now I write when I'm away letters that you never read. You said go to explore those other women, the geography of their bodies but there is just one map you'll need. You are a boomerang. You'll see. You will return to me."
  3. I try to write at least a song a week, of course a lot of them turn out like crap but sometimes...sometimes the ones I like the least when I'm writing/finishing them end up being favorites years later...so yeah, at least a song a week. Heh, might be worth explaining that my idea of a song is generally a 1-2 minute rough draft, start to finish in about 2-3 hours...I figure I can always go back and re-record it so long as I record all my ideas about it...but somehow I never do. That's why I even consider them songs...because they're done!
  4. This is totally not what you asked, but I abhor writing lyrics. Nothing makes me feel more self-conscious and silly than trying to write lyrics. These days I just tend to adlib; that way I've always got an excuse ready for them! I'm sure that it's an unhealthy opinion, but as long as I'm having a good time and being productive than what's the harm? Anyway, much respect to you writers. It's hard work and it takes a lot of gumption!
  5. Heh, I thought I was the only one who used to design guitars...of course everything I knew back then came from hearsay and old carvin catalogs.
