It has been awhile since I've been here and I dare say, it seems there have been enough changes here that I'm not sure I know my way around. Is there a resource on here that explains some of the recent changes?

Thank you, @fasttrack and @Peggy. As we say at my workplace, which is a school, "You just filled my bucket!" I'm a little out of critique practice and life, even during COVID has been a steady stream of busy (good busy), so I've done little songwriting in an number of months (something I didn't think would happen on account of my love for writing!), so I feel a bit out of practice in that, too. I fear there may be a gap in what I want to do and what I will be able to do, so It may just be a "poke in" here and there for a little while anyway and I will start with critiquing whether or not I have a song written. But I am on track to get back on track. I hope to see you around the forum!

@Sreyashi Mukherjee, to post a public update, go to account, profile, scroll down to the heading “activity”. There should be a box directly under it (which is what I’m typing in now) that says (memory bad) something about “public”.
If if you don’t have that box, then I’d check with the admin. It must be a glitch.

I had my first ever worship team music workshop ever last Saturday. Our pastor brought in a friend of his from college whom he says knows everything there is to know about anything to do with music. Sooooo....I was pretty excited about that. Anyhoo....He took us into the sound room at the back for the sanctuary and explained the sound board to us. Now I have an idea what "panning" is and what gain, headroom, impedance, and linear are. I've got to make some connections from forum discussions here though to keep it in my head and not forget, but actually SEEING the equipment and having him explain from the get-go how sound travels through the soundboard as his finger traveled along the soundboard to he where adjusts the gain and the headroom helps me. He also explained how the top buttons were like the pressure behind a fire hose and the sliding things on the bottom were like the faucet inside the house (I hope I didn't flip that around) I'm hoping I'll get to sit with some of the people who run it on Sundays when I'm not singing and learn how to operate this thing--hoping...not sure yet. It would help my understanding a lot. I'm kind of a hands-on learner. Anyway. THAT is a big event in my quiet little corner.

Sounds like a sports team eh? Don't know the answer to that question, David. If there is a measurement of sorts, I don't know how we fall on it. We just try to engage in the moment, with God, each other, and with the music. Its quite satisfying to sing with others rather than alone and we blend well.

Continuity is an illusion. I think we get bored with gradual change because it looks like continuity. If things changed too fast we would loose our points of reference.

Hey Richard, I did type "Home" in the search bar above and nothing came up. Can you link me to that song so I can listen?

It may be that I'm on my iPod that it doesn't show up. I seem to get more on the computer, but when I searched the artwork that's usually on the site to show my daughter, I could find it. Has it been removed or is it moved? I tried looking under images and videos, but couldn't find it.

PP, I can't find the original of Rendevous that you requested. Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. Can you work on the latest iteration I sent you?

Hi David, I was just checking out the lyrics you mentioned you wanted suggestions on from Nov. 16. There didn't seem to be any place to reply to them on that forum, so that's why I'm here. I was wondering what your envisioned tempo and genre were for this song. What I might suggest (because you asked, not because I see issues at all with what you have), is this: I think it would be pretty cool to use "Rendezvous" as the name of a place, a town or city. You might have to tweek one of your verses a bit to get the idea of it, but your chorus set-up works for both "ideas" if you wanted to jump from the idea of a meeting in one verse to a city/town/place in another. Just an idea.
