I'm still learning that myself, but a good start is to learn more complicated chords like min and maj 7ths and so one. Also, if you haven't learned modes, might be a good time to. Since you've been playing for so long you could probably grab a couple books and figure it out. I would also scour the web. I found a couple sites here and there that helped.

Arp Odyssey. How could that bad boy be forgotten. But you know, we might need to sepparate the classes. I love a lot of analog, but there's a few newer digital synths I like as well. One would be the Yamaha Motif. So much functionality, and as far as I can tell, very little bugs. Nord Modular is another one that I love. But you kind of have to go by price and what you're looking for. I think it's more complicated than saying this is the best synth yadda yadda.

You're wrong. It's all personal preference. Also remember that Yamaha samplers are fairly inexpensive. I think they do a pretty good job for what you pay for. But hey, it's what ever you can make great music with.
