  1. I think I've got my instruments pretty well pegged down. I notice that it's easier for me to mix other people's vocals than it is mine. Maybe I'm a bit too critical of myself, but compression hardly ever sounds right and I can't find a chorus setting that I like with my vocals. I've noticed that on professional vox mixes that there is a kind of granule-like high end chorus effect. Where in the world is that sound? I've tried upping the brightness, but that only seems to work on presence. Maybe I should do more research on chorus effects.

  3. Hey Joe, great stuff. I added it to my facebook. My crowd likes a good cackle.
  4. Finally, a forum I can contribute to. I am REALLY looking forward to this, although I must say I wish I had seen more posts on here during my younger days (the last two). I am a self teaching (I know it never ends. Nice, isn't it?) musician/producer/songwriter. I've been at it for about 15 years and have gone through a few genres. I don't know how to read music, but hear it rather well. I don't gig anymore. With work, family, and manic issues, I don't have the energy to. I play guitar, bass (they kinda go hand in hand), drums, keys, just bought my first violin last week, and sing (though most people think I'm better than I do). I do have songs on Soundcloud. They're instrumentals and one has porn samples (if you don't like explicit, don't listen to YTPorn Beat. I grabbed samples of a YouTube phone conversation thing. It's kinky, but not for kids or softies). It's almost shameful being next to the other songs that are on there, but it's too much fun to pass up. Here is the link: . My collection of songs is MUCH larger than what I have posted online. I have never had anything published, but had performance offers a while back. I favored writing tunes and have fallen in love with FL. I find it to be a songwriter's most valuable tool. Yet, I most definitely prefer writing on real instruments. FL has shown me what it means to produce entertainment in your sound, not just the words. I like to write lyrics most when I feel the urge to. Usually, it's during emotional high and low points. My biggest inspiration for music comes from a new age group called Narada. If you don't know who they are and would like to check em out, my favorite tune they released was called Christofori's Dream by David Lanz. I studied their music inside and out long before I ever got the instrument bug. Decade was their best album, in my opinion. So, enough about me. Time to get posting. p.s. The link should now work.
