Hello, John 1. Do you sing, play an instrument or instruments? I do sing and my main instrument is the guitar. However, when I record my songs, I play the other instruments via my MIDI controller. What instruments? Drums, Bass, Strings, etc. When did you start playing? I started playing guitar when I was 13 years old. Did you teach yourself? A couple of my friends played and showed me 3 or 4 chords. It was a little awkward at first because I'm left-handed and had to learn upside down. 2. Are you in a band or bands? I am not in a band currently. What is the name of the band? What do you play? Right now, I'm only playing songs that I write. Hope that doesn't sound conceded. I'm just really into creating my own sound. What other instruments are in the band? Do you have a band website? 3. Do you write songs? I do write, but I only have a few finished songs. Do you write lyrics, music or both? I write lyrics and melodies. Do you have a writing partner? I do not have a writing partner. Wish I did sometimes... 4. Do you record your music? Yes Do you use a home studio? If so what gear do you use? I'm using Pro Tools 8.4, iMac 21.5 3.6 ghz i5, Avid Mbox 3 interface. Axiom Pro 49 MIDI controller, and I'm also learning and using Kontakt 4 as my main sampler. Do you use a recording studio? Do you have music available on the web? if so where? Not currently 5. What other roles do you perform in the music business? Management? Label owner? Publishing? Promotion? Other? None of the above 6. Are you a tech head? a wannabe 7. What country do you live in? U.S. 8. What are your ambitions? I want to create my own CD and see where it takes me. 9. Do you draw/paint/write stories/computer art/dance or other creative pursuit? I'm a closet artist :-) What are your pastimes? 10. What would you like to get out of Songstuff? I would like to meet new like-minded people that share the same interests. It's difficult trying to talk to someone (friends) who don't share your musical interests. I would also like to learn everything that I can from more experienced songwriters/musicians. Hopefully, I will be able to contribute to others.
