  1. Good resources Panaka, Open Site Explorer & Majestic SEO are both great tools but probably slightly overkill for musicians. Most good music platforms (Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Reverbnation) are pretty good when it comes to SEO so you don't have to worry too much. If you play in a pub / wedding band, then something like Telnames.com is a decent option as it's mobile & local optimised.
  2. Would need more information on the clauses for termination and term of contract. Generally speaking (and going by the standard record agreements, you would have infringed your duty that is to provide a minimum quantity of recordings to the label, but the term of the contract may have ended and therefore it's debatable that the record label should have made their case within the term of the contract. Very gray area though, do you have any specific clauses you can share? I am not a specialist lawyer but I could have someone who is take a look.
  3. Just wondered if any musicians have started using Google+ yet to promote their music? I launched a competition on TMG earlier this week and noticed some musicians who took part had 10,000's of fans circling them. Got me thinking whether it's actually useful for musicians as I figure it doesn't really have an active userbase (most people on there are using it out of curiosity / force from Google), however, if it integrates with YouTube in the future then it might have a profound impact for musicians. What do other people think? Anyone using it well to promote music? Also if anyone wants to take part in the competition i'm giving away £30 worth of Vistaprint goodies (business cards, stickers etc.)
