Cheap Harmonica

I was given a metallic harmonica, pretty small, with 1-10 holes. I'm assuming they're reeds. Now, I've messed around with it on and off for awhile, nothing serious, and I still know nothing, so If anyone here could help me, I'd appreciate it. I try to go by sheet music, but it sounds like random noises to me.. Help?
