I'm going away tomorrow! Not sure I'm gonna have time for this?

The picture instantly took me back to a time when I was in the Navy. South China Sea, 18 foot seas, everyone on boad getting tossed around like like dice in a cup. They had to close the galley, lifelines were plucked from the bow of the ship, half or more of the crew was sick in their rack...nothing was normal, it was the pounding of a lifetime, one of those storms a sailor never forgets.

I'm amazed this song was inspired by that picture...

It was the size of the wave. That day, green water was crashing over the bridge of the ship, the fantail was completely underwater at times. Flooding, cracked bulkheads, injured crew.. a ship at the mercy of the sea. I was not affected physically nor was a friend of mine. That day, we learned that if you jumped when the bow of the ship was at it's apex, you could fly. We had a great time. He later died, but that was a day I'll never forget and it happened because of huge seas.
