Uad Sound Cards

Hey

Anyone using uAD sound cards?

I'm thinking of getting one for my laptop and wondered if any of you use them, what you think of them etc.

I'm also going to need to think about IO... any compatible IO you can recommend?

Not sound card, but I use the UAD2 Duo card for VST plugins. I couldn't live without it now. With IO - do you mean a soundcard?

IO I'm thinking the firewire break out boxes with multi IO ports.

Does it only do VST plug ins? You can't use it to accelerate non VST audio? I had thought they were DSP cards that weren't tied to particular implementations... or at least they worked in both contexts.

Not only only VST plugins - but only UAD VST plugins ...
