How Do I Make My Lyrics More Creative?

I have been writing my own lyrics for a while, and I find myself listening to the lyrics from professional bands and admiring how creative their lyrics are. They take an emotion and don't just tell you things, they SHOW you the emotion. The lyrics are always just so unexpected and beautiful and creative. They always talk about things that I would never think about, or compare two unexpected things that are just so good at showing the emotion. How to I achieve originality and creativity in my lyrics? I want to be unexpected and stay away from cliches. I want to SHOW the emotion!! How do I learn to do this?

I may not be the person to answer your question, but I'll try. lol Showing emotion is a powerful tool and being able to write lyrics that do so, is a challenging task. But maybe you just need to sit down and think about exactly what you want your audience to feel? Be descriptive, use powerful words, and use a thesaurus!! Exampllleeeeee: "I found you" doesn't sound as good as "I found the one that slowly takes my breath away and will always be forever one in a million."

But don't take me seriously I'm not a lyricist, but I do think what I told you is just some common knowledge~ Good luck!! lol
