New here (obviously, that's why this post.)

I've posted on a few songwriter boards over the year. Most of them have disappeared for one reason or another (not my fault!).

I've written a number of lyrics over the past 10-12 years. Can't sing or play any instruments myself so I post them and sometimes someone will like one well enough to put it to music. Have to say I haven't been writing much lately. Tough thing to do as a 'hobby', but I haven't made any money from it, so the regular job and the kids keep me busy in my real life.

But every so often I get the bug and some things start rattling around my brain that demand escape.

I suppose my lyrics tend to fall in what might be called alt-country. Usually not what would jump out at you as 'pop' songs. I like the story songs of Springsteen, Steve Earle, Neil Young. The writing style of Jay Farrar. I find myself listening most often to their music, Ryan Bingham's, Alejandro Escovedo's. Plus all the usual classic rock suspects.

So, I'm no expert, but I'll comment on what I see. Post a few things for you to check out and hopefully have some fun.

Thanks for the welcome. Seems like an active site. Lots of useful info on the different boards too.
