Hello good people!

I am having problems connecting my rig as my technical knowledge is non-existent..

This is my equpment and their outputs:

Line 6 Flextone 3 XL http://tinypic.com/r/2w38043/6

Behringer XenyX 502 http://tinypic.com/r/ur05j/6

Standard motherboard outputs for audio

How should I connect everything so I can record?

Thank you!

PC Audio Outputs to amplifier inputs

Main Outs on Behringer -> computer left and right inputs

XLR outputs on Line 6 -> Line 2/3 Inputs on Behringer (you will need 2 XLR to jack convertors)

Mic -> Channel 1 on Behringer, either XLR or jack input depending on mic

Guitar DI or other line input -> Line 4 on Behringer

That will get you started :)

PC audio inputs are often mini jack, like ipod headphone size... sometimes they are phono sockets... assuming they are mini jack and your amp uses phono you could get:

a stereo phono cable

a stereo phono to stereo mini jack adapter.

2 x XLR to jack plug leads

1 x mono jack to mini stereo jack adapter (has 2 mono inputs, 1 stereo out)

1 x mic lead to connect your microphone

1 guitar lead (if you play guitar or another instrument you plan to DI (Direct Injection) record (ie not via an amp and mic)

Get as good cables and adapters as you can afford in all cases.

Scratch that, I just re-checked your pics. It should be:

a stereo phono cable

a stereo phono to stereo mini jack adapter.

2 x XLR to jack plug leads

2 x jack to jack (guitar) leads

1 x mono jack to mini stereo jack adapter (has 2 mono inputs, 1 stereo out)

1 x mic lead to connect your microphone

1 guitar lead (if you play guitar or another instrument you plan to DI (Direct Injection) record (ie not via an amp and mic)

As your amp can also be midi controlled you should also see if you have a midi in/out (if not buy a USB/midi adapter) and buy 2 midi leads to connect the midi input on the amp to the midi out on your PC, and the midi output on the amp to the midi input on your PC. You can then control your amp from a software sequencer (like Cakewalk Sonar, Cubase or a cheaper alternative) and I believe record parameters made as you adjust dials and settings on the amp directly. :)
