Youtube And Facebook Promotion Tips?

What's the way to promote music in that viscinity? Let's discuss strategies here.

I think one needs to take the time and produce quality music, record it nicely and then move on to video production and promotion.

How is that done? My 1st step on that direction was making a trailer for my soon to be released EP - Fictional Character.

I'll try to make a full-length music video and then post the hell out of my social network accounts.

That's what I've come up with so far. Any other ideas?

I think the best way to promote your music on Facebook is through giveaways. People love things that are free or offer something in return for their like. Anyway that's the best way to promote something unless you can do viral ways to promote.

I am in no way an expert... Remember that if something sounds like complete nonsense, because it likely is.

As someone who frequently uses facebook, I really hate it when people and groups post tons of stuff and it clutters my "wall" ("homepage" or whatever you want to call it). As soon as I see another post from that person or group, I usually grumble, utter a few profanities, then pass it over. The next thing that bothers me is the sheer lack of creativity in some posts. Don't just post a link, make something a little flashy (but not too much so) that demands (positive) attention.

I guess what I am saying is that you need to be aggressive, but don't come across as a spammer (for lack of a better word).

If we move back a little bit, we can look at the product (the music and the video). Like you said, you need to make high quality music, and a high quality video. You must also take into consideration how interesting it is (what is the point of catching someone's attention with an advertisement if the product can't hold the audience).

Again, I am no expert, so hopefully someone with more experience can drop in and give some better insight.

Oh, almost forgot to mention, I checked out your soundcloud page and really enjoyed what you have up there. Looking forward to the EP.

Thanks guys! After reading your posts I came up with an idea.

I will make a video-post telling people that they will get a song based on the number of likes and shares the post has gotten.

Something like "I will release a song on each 20-like-and-share mark"

That has a giveaway character to it. Plus, it's a great way to advertise. What do you think?

It's working quite well. I got 50+ likes for 2 days, so I released 2 songs.
