Opinions And Help Needed

Hi everyone,

I'm female 27 years old, and I've been singing for 10 years now. What I really wanna do is write songs and learn to play piano, and go to a music school. I can improvise on any given melody and I really think I could be a good songwriter, but unfortunately I don't know how to play piano, but I really want to learn.

My question is, should I start going to piano courses and get beginner skills and then try to go to a music school?

And how long will it take me to be good at it to start music school?
