Feelings, Feelings, Nothing More Than Feelings.

hello all.. I really need some help here..

I watched a movie, (music and lyrics) to be precise. When a girl was trying to add her own lyrics to a lyrics which a lyricist has written. The lyricist was so furious seeing an amature replacing his lyrics with her own lyrics , the lyricist scolded her and said (finish it, was your next line. Feelings feelings nothing more than feelings ).. I got what the lyricist is trying to say in a way but i am getting confused because i am trying to apply it i don't think it's working... Please i need your help ... I really do... Thanks for your comments..

if I remember the scene in question... he was making a derrogatory comment on several levels

1) he considered her lines to be "touchy -feely" and therefore too girly (I seem to remember the guy in question was a cartoonist's impression of an arty farty creative type) as the pro writer wrote very dark lyrics.

2) He felt her lyrics were very unoriginal

He was threatened and jealous, by observation. He left annoyed.

I'm not sure what you mean by apply it?
