Greetings From The Musical Hotbed That Is Upstate New York!

Hi everybody,

My name's John. I'm a songwriter from upstate New York. I just stumbled upon Songstuff tonight while searching google for the phrase "producer looking for songs."

About me: I've tried the whole play in punk bands/sleep in vans/sign shady management deals thing and now I'm focusing on writing only and pitching my songs to artists/producers.

My stuff has been described as "Disney-pop" and "teen pop" in songwriting workshops I've attended. I suppose I'm interested in meeting up with folks into that stuff, but I'm also just looking to collaborate with like-minded songwriters of all genres. I love everything from the Smiths to Miranda Lambert to Katy Perry, so I'm pretty much up for anything as long as you're friendly and professional.

Oh, I write a monthly article for songwriting website The Muse's Muse. Perhaps somebody here's actually read it.

Anyway, this looks like a great place to meet up and talk songs, so I look forward to being part of the community!
