Hi everyone. Obligatory introductory post here.

In case anyone is interested:

I've been playing the 6-string guitar for about 10 years.

I've played the 5-string bass guitar for about 1.5 years.

I've been playing the keyboard/piano for less than 1 year.

My musical training is zero; I learned what I learned by asking music students at a local college or reading books and playing stuff myself.

I have a moderate knowledge of theory.

My personal experience started by playing in punk rock bands as a teenager, then moving into jazz and metal as a young adult. Now my interest is in classical, jazz, and metal, with emphasis on experimental and "avant-garde" styles.

Thank you! I have advanced through theory far enough that my friends can no longer help answer my questions so I hope that this forum will satiate my curiosity. I am looking forward to it!
