Can Anyone Tell Me

Hi All

 

I wonder, can anyone tell me ( if you know) if an LCD screen on a keyboard can be repaired, or failing that replaced, Mine has kind of gone blank, and I find it extreemly hard to locate the different voices/setting etc, even with a torch, and I can't seem to find anyone who has had any experience in this area, hears hoping someone here can help!

Normally they can be replaced, but even with experience it can go wrong. Much depends on your keyboard model. I recommend puting it into a shop that will do the replacement for you. Often they use a specialist, sometimes the manufacturer.

What is the make and model Jon?

One other possibility presents itself as a possible work around.. That is if you have a computer and you have midi. If you are talking default patches you should be able to get a list of the patches and select the patches via midi from the computer. Clunky but it would allow you to select sounds.

Did anything happen that may have caused the failure? For example the keyboard being dropped or something dropped on the keyboard?

Lastly, you seem to be able to find it (albeit with difficulty) using a torch... How does that work if it is blank? Is the text displayed but the backlight is blown?
