Afternoon everyone. My name is James, and I am an American expat living in Germany. I have been active most of my life in music in some form or another, most recently focusing on playing the guitar.  I have played trombone for over a decade, been a radio DJ for 4 years in college, and wowed em as a singing George Washington in my first grade  President's Day tribute play (just ask my Mom). I have also, in my earlier life, been very involved in writing, both prose and poetry, but never really put it together with my music, as it proved difficult at the time to sing through my trombone.

Now that I have shifted focus to guitar, I find myself more and more jotting down bits of verse, humming words to stuff I am practicing, and feeling generally more inspired to write that I have in a decade.  After find this site via a search on blues forms, I decided to sign up and push/inspire myself (hopefully) into putting pen to paper more often, getting some feedback on my work (and reciprocating of course), and interacting with some like-minded folks. So there you have it, see you in the forums.
