Newbie W/ Questions!

Hi everyone! I'm happy to have finally joined an online forum of talented songwriters and musicians. I write poetry and song lyrics. Recently, I've been given a production contract by a start-up team to record my poetry/songs for an album. More recently, I've been asked to write lyrics for another one of the artists they are working with. Since I'm new to the business, I feel a bit uneasy about the logistics--publishing, copyright, etc. I would love some input from some of the professionals on this site with understanding it better and making sure the terms on the agreement best protect me.

No, they do not ask for any money. They give me a very small monthly advance, send me tracks/beats to write lyrics to and I go in their home studio to record. But I don't know if I'm comfortable with all the terms of the contract. It says copyright, publishers will be split among us all. But there are no percentages or numbers. And I'm the only one doing the writing.
