CAST ADRIFT sea of love

 

we get caught up from the rise and fall of love’s under-tow

simple to be swept away we ride the crest along the waves

taken in by powerful currents of emotion it swallows us whole

 

beginning to surface within the confines of blankets n’ pillow

we make our way from the comfort of the depths as we’d expect

clinging to each other as if life depended on sheer will ready we exhale

 

we are lovers forever and a day you and I ready to coexist

floating on the sweetest memory of this and all that will come

more than willing we surrender unto the depths not able to resist

to become one body and soul we are cast adrift on the sea of love

I liked the poem, it had a sweet emotion to it. However some lines were three lines and some had four, it seemed to throw it off a bit.I liked it a lot, you did a good job with it.

Thankyou for the comment...I really appreciate you stopping by!!!......I tend to be unorthodox in my writing, I guess that is why I do not get the traffic that others do.......I do not have a particular formula or a set of rules that I follow...I go with my heart and my gut....whatever works as I write it down....that is what I present....people either love or dislike the way I write...but I truly do appreciate your comment!!!...thank you ....regards Mike
