Castles In The Sky

Recommended Posts

Someone told me I should start posting this here as well, so I'm doing that

Part 4 of ? of A Story of a Lifetime

2 years past since the glimpse of minds on the edge
So close to falling, but they work to bring it back
Is it a worthy cause or just endless futility?
Nothing is certain except their determination
But who can be determined when never assured by themselves?

Their hope dissipates slowly as they begin to realize that;
Why do we pursue what has already gone from us?
But what they are soon to find is that the turning point has arrived,
And see that one has lost their fight

---

The First Speaks:

I've searched for too long to give in to lost hope
But seeing nothing has brought the truth to my eyes
I will never know
Never know how I came to be, and I don't care
Because there is no need for me to know how those demons brought me

After this realization, I see that I'm tired of it all
All I want now is sleep
And as my eyes slowly close, I think of the things I've missed in this pursuit
The faces of people I may have loved, the miracles I may have experienced
Everything slipped out of my hands
So now I must restart and experience life again

...

Sudden sounds awake me,
and I rise up to see a man running through the alleyway
I stop him and ask of what he runs from
All he does is gives me a stare that has seen all, and says this:
"I run from what must not be seen, and what must never be spoken of"
Nothing more is said and he leaves me to wonder

---

The Second Speaks:

Such a sad sight, how could it happen again?
Doesn't matter now
All that matters is that the eyes of innocence never see it
I must run and tell those who've seen too much and lost faith
For they won't feel this feeling evermore

As I run I see a figure in the night
Sleeping and satisfied, but awoken by me
He can never see that tragedy
I have to warn him of the danger that lurks in the dark

I tell him all that needs to be known and continue onward
As I move forward I wonder who they where...
The man who sleeps in that cold nightmare,
And the woman who will never see the full beauty of life

Why do I try to see for my lost kin who's already seen all he wishes to see?
Such a pointless endeavor, but despair fueled this ignorant quest
No matter, all I must do is see that woman be given what she deserves:
A proper goodnight and given to he who gave all

---

The Third Speaks:

Drifting in darkness
Where am I?
This question I ask endlessly with no answer

Is this the end? Or just an intermission?

---

The third has found that her days are gone, and is left with nothing
But this nothing will soon change, because she will soon be given life again
An impossible dream come true that only comes to those who see who they are

I would like to know if it was a good decision to do what I did to The Third. Anything else is okay, and wanted
