Just with thinking about YouTube I wondered whether it would be helpful to have a place to post videos in development for feedback on here. People don't bother so much with 'showcase' since opinions are less welcome I think.

So, I think you just post your music video in the Song and Recording Critique forum and ask for feedback about the video.  If it's not a music video, then it probably doesn't belong on the site outside of the Showcase.  

 

Ah ok, yep. If I finally get some made I'll just post there. I've already scrapped one vid... they're a pain in the arse to make from stock stuff (since they will not be me in performance vids ;) ).... but I have a strong desire to get some done.

Yeah I've searched. I found one place that makes an auto vid... https://rotorvideos.com   you can try out as much as you want for free, then pay to download... I tried making two but wasn't thrilled due to the type of stock footage they have available... but you can also upload some of your own footage I think.

 

If you find any ready made, let me know :)

 

Meanwhile, if you have some editing software... I found a place full of unusual footage - https://archive.org/details/prelinger  much of it seems to be Public Domain. 

 

Also https://videos.pexels.com have lots of free clips you can edit together. 

 

I used stuff from both when I made my only vid so far.

 

I have the editing software, and I don't mind editing, I just never have the footage to create what I imagine... so frustrating!
