Hi - I haven't got a publisher for my songs - I handle that myself. There isn't that much a need for a publisher in Europe as in the US, and I plan to register as a publisher eventually. Some questions regarding the liner notes for "Serendipity" - should I say:

"All songs published by Finn Arild Music ..." (I can't, can I - when I'm not a publisher ...)

or

All songs copyright control by Finn Arild Music ... or Finn Arild Aasheim ...

uck ... help me out here guys'n'gels ...

You should have your copyright notice in anyway! Whether you include a publisher notice or not. Because you are the songwriter, you should have this,

All songs copyright © Finn Arild Aasheim

If you put

All songs copyright control by Finn Arild Music.

Then the copyright control is passed to Finn Arild Music. Which doesn't yet exist!

I would still copyright the songs in your own name, not a company name.

There's two questions now - firstly the copyright control question above, then:

on all loose parts, or the same FINN ARILD AASHEIM ... ? It kinda feels right with the first one for me.

We should probably enter it into the FAQ when answered :) ...

This one tells folk that the copyright for the song lies with Finn Arild

(P) © 2005 FINN ARILD MUSIC

This one refers to the actual CD recording that Finn Arild Music has had pressed, and tells folk that ownership of this particular recording and package lies with the company.

You need both of 'em.
