looks nice. You back in concert tune then?

Yes. It came out of the packaging bridge up and in perfect tuning! It's LOUD too.

Practice:-

Weaknesses: Bow work. Those string crossings are a challenge. Still producing whistling harmonics.

Strengths: I am able to find tunes fairly easily. 'Ode To Joy' occurred last night with no preparation or mistakes.

Are you play by ear or using notation?

Try just bowing the open strings. Try full length strokes, and half length. Then progress to E major up and down the scale playing a stroke per string, then a stroke per 2 notes, and then a stroke a note.

Lastly move to Emajor in 3 note groups Start on E, play 3 the next 2 ascending notes in sequence, go to F# and then play the next 2 ascending notes and so on.

Cheers

John

Ear only. In fact Im not even thinking of notes at all, just the sound of the notes. I will do as you say re- bowing.

I cant believe Ive had it this long & still played no blues.

How're you getting on?

Well, still struggling with bowing, but working on it. Changed strings yesterday and find it MUCH EASIER now. Had a dead D string that was whistling like a train, but now the E is a little too bright, -oh well!

Playing mostly in G and able to find tunes very easily, as with guitar pretty much. Got a new bow on Friday. Link here: http://www.danceofdelight.co.uk/catalog/pr...?products_id=84

Hows yours going?
