I love loads of music. But, punk has always been my favorite. In 72 (before the album was released) I bought The New York Dolls a promo copy for a quarter at a flea market. It's still one of my favorite albums. I LOVED Johnny Thunders. I used to follow him all over the east coast. I was devastated when he died so young. I went to his wake and funeral. That was depressing. 

 

Even more depressing a friend sent me a notice that Kim Shattuck of The Muffs passed away today at age 56 of ALS. She was a BRILLIANT songwriter and guitarist. They were another band I followed. The whole band was extremely nice to me. I was always in the front head banging. 

 

If you've never heard of them, they put out some great albums. Unfortunately she never got the recognition she deserved. If you're a female artist, look her up, she had so many great songs.
