How's the gig scene looking atm where you live?

Hi y'all,

 

I had a gig down south last weekend that me and my friends did a road trip for. And given how the vaccinations drives have their pace, travel restrictions have still not completely eased up. That got me thinking... how's the gigging situation where you live?

 

Gigs were a significant part of my income before the pandemic (debating whether that is a wise approach is for another topic to consider ) and I've taken the past year adapting to online lessons and ocassional vocal technique workshops to keep me going. If you're someone who had a similar situation like me, how you been handling change?

Sadly, right now there is no gig scene. Still under lockdown just now, and who knows what venues will survive? Venues, artists, fans are all really keen to get back to a regular gigging schedule.

It's a mixed bag here, @john.

 

 

I'm doing another gig on the 27th. But based on the trends as of last week with the second wave of the pandemic coming in, looks like we might be going into another lockdown too. I'm guessing it's for the best. Vaccinations have been made available for senior citizens atm which is a good start. But until it becomes more available to move towards some semblance of herd immunity, I think that things are going to be tricky for a few months. Sigh
