I've felt the influence of Jeff Beck very strongly (along with Allan Holdsworth, Clapton and Hendrix). Jeff could pull sounds and nuances out of a guitar nobody else could. He was indeed a true original.

I literally cried most of that night. Don't know why it affected me so much, but it hit hard.

I didn't pay much attention to him until Blow by Blow came out. I was heavy into the fusion thing and he was suddenly leading the way. Best flat out rock player ever I think though.
