Lyric Writing Challenge: Clichés

Hi Gang

 

Time to dust off your clichés, and twist them!

 

You can choose the song form you want though write for a pop genre of your choice:

 

• Country Pop
• Electro Pop
• Pop Punk
• … Pop
• Pop…

 

Whatever. The challenge here is:

 

Rule 1: that you have to use twisted clichés. That means using clichés but altering them in some way to make something new.

 

It’s a great way to add something special to your lyrics. It is a balance of something very familiar and something unusual or unexpected to surprise listeners.

 

Rule 2: you must use at least one cliché per song section. For example at least one in each verse, at least one in the chorus and so on.

 

Extra points for use of metaphors and similies.
