Hey Y'all,

My name is May East and I just found this site. I'm recuperating from a serious illness and going stir crazy without being able to go "full bore" on my music --it's sort of all consuming passion that I promised everyone (including myself) I would let up on until I'm healed.

Anyway, if I can't do it, at least I can talk about it.

P.S. My favorite is "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor.

Fire and Rain is a good one. I hate to try to pick one, but I'll pick "Fluff" by Black Sabbath

Just kidding, one of my favorites that comes to mind is

"Come away with me" by Norah Jones

And anything by Willie Nelson (he gives me goose bumps)

Welcome to SongStuff

Good Luck with the recuperation

John Nightwolf

P.S.

Where ya from?

Hello there!

I think the name of the song was "I Need You" by America.

I actually got to kick back with those boys about 17 years.

"Widow's Story" by Zallan (Independant) will rip your heart out. I've talked to him a few times and the mans mind is unreal.

Wow, that's cool. They're a really great band. I'll do a search on Zallan.

Hiya and welcome.

Too many to mention as my favourites but a very recent fave is The Duel by Allison Moorer. She sings to a slow piano melody as she stands over her dead lover's grave, cursing God.

Thanks Alistair,

I think the upbeat love songs are partly songs of thanksgiving in the happy part of the relationship and the more pessimistic ones are songs cursing (whomever the singer feels is responsible--God in this case).
