By posting on these forums you are in effect self-publishing. You should include the copyright symbol and copyright date and your name within your posts. You can include the copyright symbol in a few ways but 

 

Posting on any forum is a weaker form of copyright protection and is not a replacement for registering your songs. The timestamp establishes your claim of ownership, however in the US if you don’t register you can’t sue for certain damages and there are limitations on what you can claim for. By simply posting on songstuff and other forums you are establishing your copyright with a date and time stamp. I recommend that you ultimately register your songs. For non-US members I also suggest that you register your songs in the US Copyright Office as well as in your own country.

In the UK there is no official copyright registration service. There is a private one, but don’t know how valid that is the courts, or ultimately how much of an advantage it is.
