Paparazzi

Your face betrays you, a searing brand of shame

Hot coal roasted flesh, a sizzling refrain

One moment consumes me.

Light pouring through a lens.

It's a blade that pricks skin,

a point of focused pain

Cutting out the dead wood, then staring at the pyres

You sit and smoulder, white hot tempered fire

A moment that decides me,

sunlight through a lens

Flames that lick my ego,

rubbing at the stain

Crackling, crisp, and cringing, a pheonix partly done

Ashes turn to embers, as slowly you become

Moments that define me,

passing through the lens,

A sneer marks my presence

I'm a spark that kindles blame

Hey

Thanks guys!

I don't write as much as I maybe should. This is the first proper poem I've written in years. Lyrics I write more often, but I'm struggling to finish them at the mo.

Anyway, thanks for the compliments. It encourages me to pull my head out the coding, design and writing for Songstuff etc. a bit more often.

Cheers

John
