Conklin Guitars Some beautiful looking guitars on this site! 6, 7 8 strings? Whatever you want by the look of it. Anybody ever played an 8 string guitar? How would you tune that?

Dunno. For 7 strings you just tune the extra (low) one to B, I cant imagine having a bass G below that somehow. I would be tempted to tune it GCFA#DEBE. The one that I cant get my head around is this...

But fanned frets? What's that all about? I understand how it works. I just don't get the why....

I imagine the base scale (28" inches) and the treble scale (25.5" inches) are varied to address the issue of temperament. By using a 'telescoped' scale, you can increase the range of the guitar sunstantially.
