Funny you should draw attention to this now.

I was just listening the other day to 'The Mountain' by Steve Earle with The Del McCoury Band which is fantastic, accessible bluegrass and came out about 4-5 years ago.

For the diehards, Bluegrass probably never went away - I'm not one of those but I still like the music which is in the great tradition of fiddle music that you hear in all kinds of genres. It also has a great sense of humour in the song titles e.g.

'Jesus Loves Me But He Can't Stand You'

'Sh*t, Shower and Shave'

Wish I'd thought of those.

Now all we need is a Zydeco revival. Yee-hah!

The `String Cheese Incident' are essentially a Bluegrass band.

There was once of course `Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions'.

In both cases the music is class!

Most excellent. A friend of mine used to be in a band called 'Tone's Bluegrass Baboons' - but although the name was a good one, the band was unfortunately a figment of his imagination. Ah, there's an idea for a new thread.... ;D

Hell, I appreciate any grass being a boy from Wisconsin USA. I only see green grass for 1/3 of the year.

What? Oh.............the genre Blue Grass. Oooops.
