Me. I'm 16. I've been writing songs for 2 years now. Hopefully I'm improving.

Been playing the guitar for about the same amount of time.

I compose a lot of music on the PC i.e. non-guitar stuff

A lot of my songs are depressing, I went through a stage of depression for a while.

Got a lot of inspiration from that.

And now some of my songs lurk into love and other things, but they always seem to have a dark side, which I like

Started out writing alternative, then put it in a little punk, that didn't work out so well so I got into something darker. Now I'm trying alternative metal.

I've written quite a lot of songs, I'll put them up over here one by one, starting from the latest.

I don't plan on recording the songs though, at least not any time soon, maybe after university I'll start a band hehe

Hi St, depressed at 16? Wait until your much older then you can use it to terrorize the neighborhood kids, (it's called the 'crotchety old fart' sundrome) you should be enjoying the last bits of youth now while you can! As for the songs and no recordings, you don't need a band to do stuff yourself. You should try doing some recordings. Borrow some equipment if you can and learn to play other instruments (especially keyboard! everybody needs a key player!) and experiment & have fun learning! Xmas is coming up so maybe you could drop some hints about a new keyboard (i'm 46 and I still get presents from Santa!).
