Stray Thoughts

I was just thinking of things that have past

stray thoughts don't seem to last

I was just wondering where the good times went

like a whirlwind in my mind

stray thoughts can be unkind

I was walking in the past

the good times were very few

but in each one there was you

stray thoughts rushing through

I was walking up the stairs

could have sworn I'd seen you there

I can remember the exact length of your hair

can see your smile, your fixed stare

strays thoughts can strip you bare

I was hoping one day we would meet

somewhere along this lovely street

but stray thoughts don't last long

like your favourite love song in the charts

stray thoughts can sometimes break your heart

sorry to throw this at ya but i wrote this many yrs ago

and its just been published

got me thinkin there is no rhyme scheme to this its not balanced but yet what it says still remains

i hope i have learned a lot since then

but havin said that
