OK. I was thinking about the replies in the Neck Scale length thread. I said that my hands have short stubby fingers, and I was wondering if there was an ideal 'Hand Size' for playing guitar? I prefer to play the shorter scale length Les Paul because of my short fingers, but I've noticed that most guitar players seem to have long slender fingers! What do you think?

I think slender fingers help.

your's are just fat fingers Steve, you need to give your fingers some more exercise! NOT one at a time starting with your middle finger!

I'm not sure it matters to much, one of the fastest shredders I've met has tiny short lil' stubby fingers.. you really don't think 'fast guitarist' when you look at him, but he can sure go!

Personally I think longer thinner fingers are better, but that's just cause that's what I've got!

Ive got medium fingers, and the left 3rd is a bit ropey. I dont think it matters a whole lot. Its just what you get used to.

I know that, it's just that I have a problem with imagining people with short fingers playing that fast... It's why I specified fastest rather than best

Ive never wondered about having different fingers. I do wish I had better nails. My mother has wonderful strong nails, but I didnt inherit them. Instead I inherited her nose, and I have weak crap fingernails.
