  1. hey people, I really wanna be able to at least keep in tune for singing along with my guitar, not bothered about being amazing (obviously I'd LOVE to sound like Mark Lanegan, but as I don't intend on smoking, drinking copious amounts of whisky or doing Meth(!) I think I'll live not sounding like that...) but would just love to be able to sing in a group of people with out being crap! Any tips on how to get into it? Should I find a teacher? Practice with my guitar/without? Actually scrap the without, I wouldn't pratice without cause hten my flatmates might actually hear me! Shy bastard that I am... :s So yeah, any tips at all would be hugely welcome Rohan
  2. Well, I am in the 'i wish I had been someone who always sang' cause then at least it would feel natural, but now, although I reckon I could sing if I practised, it's so weird to do it (other than when shouting along at live gigs or loud cds of course) i'm not sure I'll ever really learn... And I REALLY hate hearing my voice as others hear it... I have recently got hold of a camera phone with semi decent video, and I've been hearing myself more than usual recently and I don;t like it! It's a shame I'm a rhythm guitarist at heart really, cause it's so much more useful to be rhythm/vocals than just rhythm, hey-ho... Rohan
  3. I always wondered about this, and then my stumble bar revealed to me the truth..: http://www.robandelliot.cycomics.com/webco...04/comic183.jpg Rohan
  4. having read your first post I realised (cause I followed the link from the lyric reviews board) I had answered for lyric writing only, suddenly all my %'s dropped! i have around 20 have finished riffs and songs that need lyrics and more work, and that's down since I had a go with a 'mini gun' and got rid of the genuinely crap stuff... hmm, thinking about it, I should have gone lower, as I only have 2 songs that I consider finished... And one of them might want some work when I get Linux operational finally... Rohan
  5. Well, at the moment (I find my musical tastes swing too much to ever make permanent favourites): Jack White (White stripes/Raconteurs) Chris Cornell (I only know his Audioslave stuff, haven't got around to listening to soundgarden yet...) Matt Costa (tho maybe he's more in as lyricist/songwriter than vocalist, not sure) Tom Mcrae (awesome songwriter, lyricist and his voice is perfect for his style...) Grant Nicholas (Feeder - Just because) Rohan
