How do you find out more about this? I looked up Albertti Bass and all I found was that it was a way to play the chord by playing the lowest note in the chord then the highest then middle and high again. How does this relate to the melody?

Hey guys! This is my first post here! I'm having a hard time coming up with melodies to go over or complement a chord progression I have. Every melody I think of pretty much just follows the chords progression too much and it doesn't sound very original or different. How do I think of a melody that counters the chord progression nicely but still fits into it (if that makes sense)?
