  1. I use bussing quite often for a multitude of different reasons. I love to send all my organic drums that are compressed individually to an aux send where I insert a Fairchild 660 compressor and pull back the whole drum mix about .5-1 db. this makes the drums "pop" a bit better! I will also sub guitars sometimes, and BGV's for the purposes of shelving and certain delays.
  2. Tunesmith is correct!! Also consider when you did your trial run, was it using the EXACT same equipment the studio will have??? All the more reason, as a vocalist, to focus on EMOTION, and PITCH; i.e. performance. You just go in there and sing your heart out. Let your production team deal with everything else. When you are done, if you are dissatisfied, have an honest conversation with yourself as to whether it was the performance or the production/engineering team. I have seen both sides many times. Hope that helps.
  3. Sounds to me like programming is what you are looking for, brother. This is exaclty the way most pop records are done. So I would also search for any music "programmers". Being that its all digital, the world is your oyster! Try www.fiverr.com, i'll bet you could find several people who would be willing to either program the tracks or teach you to program your own (from tech questions, to arrangement) for just $5!! Pretty cool resource.
  4. Welcome to the forums John Dwinell :)
