  2. I use the Focusrite | Scarlett-8i6 USB Audio Interface. It's one of my new pieces of equipment and I'm quite happy with it so far. I replaced my Digidesign MBox 2 Pro firewire interface which was 10+ yrs old. It was a fantastic audio interface but I was updating my equipment and ProTools software and the Scarlett 8i6 worked into the plan.
  3. Hey Songwriters, It's hot but it's getting late in the year for your Winter Holiday release plans. Well done Winter Holiday music sells and gets plays! People are searching for a seasonal vibe..religous, secular, old classics and new songs. Winter Holiday releases are a great strategy for reaching your fans and making new ones, year after year. Has anyone been thinking about or working on a Winter Holiday song or two for release this year? Is it an original, a cover, a public domain classic? It would be great to know what your plans are and if you have any hurdles that you want to discuss that will help to make your release more effective. It's more than having a great Winter Holiday song, there's always production, artwork, video, promo, platforms of distribution, playlists to get on and of course.. timing! But.. If you're already finished and ready to go, Awesome job! It would be great if you want to put your song on the Showcase boards so we can review as we start preparing, in the next couple months, for our Winter Holiday Playlists on YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud. Peggy

  16. Hi Kelly, Welcome to Songstuff! That's a broad question and can be alot of ground to cover. I've said the same thing to myself when working on a new song.. of course it has to do with what type of song your creating... so Noted a couple of ideas not knowing more about your music and for sure there are others to help.. A basic exercise.. If you're trying to connect the parts v to c, try playing the last 2 chords of your verse and the first chord of the chorus and make sure that sounds the way you want it. If it doesn't, back up a couple more chords in the verse make adjustments until you get the sound that works for you. You can use cadence, like..end the verse on a V chord that's building energy into the chorus follow by an I chord... have a key change between the song parts, or add a pre-chorus to make the transition. Rhythm, tempo, dynamics, lyrics.. Lots of fun just noodling, too Peggy
