Here are some old saying that was being said to us in the 80s when I was in Nashville from capital producers and others that I was around. 1.Watch who you walk on on the way up because you never know who will walk on you on the way down. 2. Be kind to everyone that you meet because you really don't know who they are. 3. The more you help others the more they help you. If you are writing song for publishers When sending your songs in always call and ask if they are looking for new songs. Get permission to send your song to them. Only submit your best 3 songs and make sure that your best song is frist Good titles. Sometime they look at the title and if they do not like the title they will not listen to the songs. You are right. If you want to make it in the music business then you have to be there and make all the contact that you can. I have been down that road before and enjoyed that ride. I wish you all the luck in the world
