  1. Bahaha. The babbling thing reminded me of Paul McCartney singing about scrambled eggs before he had the lyrics for Yesterday. And I'm just gonna go ahead and say the full "scrambled eggs" version he did on Jimmy Fallon is better than the original, haha.
  2. Hi. There's a "p" missing from the word "rapping" in your YouTube About section and it's super awkward, haha.
  3. Hi. I would say give it a week or two at least. So many people join and then bail after like a day, but you can find opportunities here if you keep looking. Within like a week after I joined, I had projects up the ying yang (Which is very uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend putting them in your ying yang). And I think finished songs need to be really well-produced these days. If you want them to go anywhere. But don't take demos too seriously. I think as long as they get your idea across, they're fine. All my demos sound like garbage, haha.
  4. It actually can be kinda nice to be stuck somewhere with an idea. 'Cause like you said, you can end up developing it pretty far by the time you get a chance to write it down. Which is nice. I have way too many unfinished ideas in my phone.
  5. For sure. It's so interesting to hear about people's different approaches. I've always listened to booty-shaking music for the most part, haha, so it was pretty much my destiny to value melody more.
  6. Yeah, but I consider lyrics more flexible than melody. For me, anyway. I would much rather contort lyrics to fit a melody than the other way around.
  7. ^ This. It's kind of annoying sometimes, haha. I start a shower, think of an idea I really like, and then I have to sing it to myself over and over until I get to my phone.
  8. Melody first for sure. For me, melody is so much more important, and I wouldn't wanna be limited by the syllables and junk.
  9. Hi. I linked to a video about running out of music. I don't remember what he says 'cause I haven't watched it in a long time, but I'm sure it's interesting. Also, a couple guys just wrote a computer program that created billionssss of melodies, which they put onto a hard drive, and that gives them the ability to copyright all of them. Apparently. Which they don't plan on doing, but it's kind of a fascinating situation. I struggled when I started writing music. I just looked at the blank page like ughhhhh, there are too many words to choose from. Haha. It sucks when there's no shortcut, and all you can do is start writing and gaining experience. But one thing I love to say when talking about songwriting is that they don't have to be epic poems or anything like that. Or super clever secret messages. I've found that most of the time, the first words that come to my mind when I'm thinking about a certain topic are good to use for the lyrics. 'Cause I feel like the priority for the lyrics should be successfully communicating what you wanna say. But that's just me. I don't know. Bye.
  10. Um, okay, I frickin' love The Llama Unicorn Song.
  11. There's a skit from Impractical Jokers that comes to mind, but that's all I'm gonna say about that. Hi.
  12. Yowza. Lots of words in this thread. And hi.
