  1. Hey John. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Those are all excellent questions. Making music has always been a hobby for me and I have traditionally never been one to actually put any of it out into the world. As for this song, I don't really have any intentions for it. I literally made it in a few hours last night and will most likely just move on to the next project. As with all my music, I have never formally released or tried to monetize any of the things I have done and will probably continue in that vein (being as how I really just don't know how to go about any of that). For now, I just like making stuff and seeing what comes out the other end. I really like the idea of these challenges and will probably go scouring the boards for more of them.
  2. Hey. Just found the challenge section on here and it prompted me to put something together. I did break one of the rules as I don't sing or write lyrics but I still put together a song using variations of 4 chords: Cm Ab Gm Fm. Enjoy.
  3. Hey Anthony. I am new here too and I am not very versed in Critique other's songs but I thought I'd let you know that I really liked your version of that song. I'd actually never heard the original before. I know as musicians listening to our own stuff can be a little ADHD'y picking it apart but for the most part, it was a nice listen. There was a video I saw a while back where Jack White was talking about his favorite song, and it is basically just a guy singing a song and clapping his hands. The notes weren't perfect and the recording is/sounds old, and it's fantastic because of how human it is. It kind of changed my view a bit on what music could or should be. So when I hear songs like you made, I tend to like the weird sounds, flat notes, or timing issues because it's human. And I like that about it. Good job. Edit: I found the video -
  4. Hey all. I'm basically going to just reiterate what I put in my about me page but I've been a piano hobbyist since a teenager (I'm in my 40s now). I spent a lot of my 20's playing, writing, and recording stuff but I've never really been the kind of person to put anything out into the world. I took a break a number of years ago when I went back to school to get my Bachelors and Masters in Software Engineering and have since changed my career to that field. I bought Reason as a graduation gift and started getting back into making stuff again. I still don't have any plans to try to put anything out there but I am interested in joining some communities of musicians to chat about whatever and maybe try to improve some of the things I do. So yeah, nice to meet everybody.
