I used to use D'Addario but I found I was snapping my strings quite a bit, ok not all that much but a good handful of times.. and for someone like me who's scared to death of a string hitting me in the face that was too much for me. I used to be scared to tune my guitar or change the strings for that reason. So, I went to a guitar shop and asked for a good set of strings that wont break easily, and, had a nice, warm sound. I was recommended Earthtones. I loved them and thats what Ive used ever since, Earthtones Phosphor Bronze medium gauge.. Ive not yet had one break on me and I really do like the sound.

My father. I don't even really like him but when I was a little girl and didn't know any better he was my hero. I would sit and listen and watch him play for hours. even when I grew older and didn't really like my father I still couldn't help but love his playing. Granted hes not all that great by any means. but hes not terrible either. I always thought it was nice seeing him mess up and go back and try to figure it out, which eventually and usually not after too long, he did. (he never took lessons and did not read music all was done by ear). He is the reason why I picked up guitar myself. If I can become even as good as he was I will have accomplished my goal.

I like the star ones. I think the ones that just have designs as the fret markers are fine but I dont like the ones that have designs down the entire length. that would confuse the hell out of me. But I really like the "stars moons and commets" one. It let me view the first page of the gallery but when I tried to go to page 2 or 3 it redirected me back to page one, then to the main page.

seriously though. I hate it!!!!!! you cant do anything!!! you go to open IE.... your security settings will not allow you to run Internet Explorer while using aol dialer. ... I override that..

click ok.. try to open a site... ' this web browser "internet explorer" is trying to open this site" bla bla bla" do you want to allow this?' click ok
this site cannot be displayed for security reasons :|
so finally I set all the security settings in the internet options down to low or off or whatever and no sooner than I hit apply.. .... big yellow warning box and alarms go off....
YOUR COMPUTER IS AT RISK!!!! CLICK HERE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.. so I shut down norton. then the whole time online theres a yellow banner above the web pages.. ' the current security settings put your computer at risk, click here to fix this' you can click out of that box, but the second you go to a different page it comes back up! Try to download yahoo messenger.. it sais it cannot open that page... tried it on aol.. same thing.. I had to download opera to be able to download yahoo.

Its not uncommon for me at all to go even six months without playing so It wouldnt be anything that earth shattering for me. Could always pick up my trumpet or mess around on the keyboard if I felt the need to make some music.

I just wondered what you guys do to write a lyric. Do you start with an idea, then a title? Just start writing and see what happens? Write your lyrics with a guitar? Start with a melody?
Do you plan your lyrics? Do you use standard song forms? Do you critique and edit your own lyrics? Do you have any way of measuring how good your lyrics are (a standard you hold them up against?)?

Im all over the place, sometimes a line will just come to me and ill try to build something around it. sometimes just I have an idea I build around. At other times I actually do like to write from a title alone. Cant say Ive ever written lyrics from a melody yet, but maybe sometime in the future I could try it. I dont normally plan them, just keep writing and see what happens. most of the time use the standard v1 chorus v2 chorus bridge chorus forum but at times have altered the form a bit. Normally after ive written something I dont do alot of any editing at all. As for measuring how good they are well sometimes I read over something of mine and Ill like it and think "ok thats not too bad" then maybe after a few days or even weeks I can go back and I might by then read it and think, no this is crap. So if I still like it after a few months then thats my way of judging myself if I think its any good.

maybe so, but when will this all end? in a few years what, If I buy a CD or movie, will it be illegal to let others listen to it, or watch it with me? Lend it out? Will each person then have to pay to be able to listen or watch?
I understand that artist have rights, but so do the consumers. AND myspace being a 3rd party here, I feel its very unfair to hold them accountable for the actions of those consumers, as I would say in respect to hold any site or organization accountable for its members actions. To a point, it just really makes no more sence than in the fact, as I said. They just want the money......

This had to happen, and sorry to disagree Amanda, but it has to be up to the artist to give away their material for nothing, not the listener.
Nothing is being given away.
The lawsuit accuses MySpace of allowing users to upload videos illegally and taking part in the infringement by re-formatting the videos to be played back or sent to others.The user already had the video. how they got it should not be something myspace should have worry about. If anything, they should be going after whom ever is distributing the copyrighted material. For all myspace knows, the user could have purchaced it. Would it not then be the users right to upload it for view on his site? If of course, they are not redistributing, selling, or altering the product.
This isnt about copyright infringment, its about myspace has the money, and they need an excuse to get it.
