  1. I found a great site  several months ago, and I've been engrossed with it ever since. It's a great way to explore music that you might not have previously considered!  You can either pick a genre and explore new bands that are unfamiliar to you, or, open the page and stick a virtual pin in and see what you come up with? I've spent hours on this site!

If you look for a band that you know and like, all the other bands around them will be of a similar type.  Have a little explore. It's brilliant! :)

  2. Well! Interesting little Video mate!

I remember you, Mick & I trundling off to London for a computer fair where, we met with David. Nice bloke! I bought his computer monitor. Which was a bit of a coup at the time!  A multi sync monitor that just made my Amiga A1200 come to life!  :)

I still have quite a few copies of MUG and T.I.  Those times were an enjoyable episode in my life.  Making friends with you & Mick a particular pleasure! (For you & Mick :) )

I think I might just pledge for a copy of the book! It'll be interesting to find out why one of the greatest products on the market was abandoned and left to die?

  3. How do you fancy this?

The whole thing started last summer as a throw-away comment on a discussion on a Facebook group for Donington veterans (both Monsters Of Rock & Download), when in the throes of reminiscing about MoRs gone by, someone said "Why don't we organize one ourselves?". A couple of inspired people took up the idea, for a one-day, one stage rock festival in the East Midlands, just like the legendary Monsters Of Rock gigs in the 80s/90s.

A successful pledge campaign was launched (I bunged £20 in) and lo & behold, the Stonedeaf Festival was born. It is being organised by rock fans, for rock fans, in the style of the old festivals by a 9 man (& women) committee. The ethos is simple: there's no corporate organisation needing to make a profit, so prices are being kept low - £50 for the whole day, plus only another £10 if you want to camp on site (Friday to Sunday). Food and drink prices are also being kept to reasonable levels, and things like shuttle buses between the train station & site are planned.

  4. I missed this thread! So, I hope this is still relevant? Here's a song I wrote and recorded back in 2004. It was a challenge laid down by Lazz, a much missed former contributor to this site,  to write a Christmas song! I believe it was only myself and Finn Arild who took up the gauntlet and, in a very short space of time, came up with a song!  This is not your average Christmas ditty! I wrote about what I felt at the time. So! Here it is, (after much digging through old DVDs)

    Merry Christmas. :)
