Fostex makes decent gear. I have a set of their nearfield monitors - sound identical to the smaller Mackies, at a third of the price. :P

The mixing you can do on it is very rudimentary, but it is excellent for striping onto midi devices which it can activate with Midi Time Code or Midi Machine Code, and it is great for location recordings, supplying phantom power for capacitor mikes. It also acts as a USB drive and and it records an information file that opens in word pad, making it very easy to import recordings into a studio for mixing.

All things considered, for two hundred sheets I'm very pleased with it...
