Need something to draw to?

Need some drawing program, and photoshop is too expensive? No worries, there  is a Gimp, which is very good little drawing software, with all elements of photoshop, but you get it for free...Go for it:

http://www.gimp.org/windows/

There choose link under the name of "Jernej Simoncic", and on the left you see menu. Choose "stable version", and download all four files in that next page. First you need to  install GTK- file, then Gimp, then animation package, and last is help-file...it is too easy...

Hey

What about Photoshop Elements? (I think that's what it is called...) A cut down version of photoshop.

BS, I use linux as a test web server, and I have soundblaster live card that I've never tried with it. Can you recommend any music applications to use in Linux?

Cheers

John

I haven't tried photoshop elements, but I've use Photoshop Album, which is _the_ best photo-album software in my opinion.

As for Linux sequencers, I tried Muse once, but it is a long way from production ready. The truth is; very little Open-Source software is. It's usually made of a group of more or less skilled programmers with little or no project management. The few who does succeed are those who combine it with a commercial license, so-called dual licensing. Examples; Apache, Mysql, Trolltech (where I am webmaster) ...

I do hope for some dual-licensed Linux audio software, but the wait maybe long.
